Lucy

My name is Lucy Kennedy and I am a 20-year-old university student with a passion for running.  I am honoured to be a part of this team and to support the amazing work Monty has put into the project.

I attended St Margaret’s Anglican Girl’s School , so I met Monty through the brother-sister relationship of our schools as well as through a mutual love of running. I was in grade 12 when Monty became ill. This news was devastating to everyone that knew him. It seemed so impossible that someone as fit and vibrant as Monty could be affected by this, and so unfair that he was hit by it during a time in his life that should have been so much fun. Having witnessed his courageous fight back to health, I am truly inspired. If he, after being through so much, can be so dedicated to this cause, the least I can do is to show my support by being part of this team

My history as a runner began when I started school cross country training in grade 8, and have been addicted ever since. I now compete in track, cross country and road running events and aim to complete my first half marathon this year.

I’m really looking forward to running to Longreach and hope that everyone is generous in their donations in support of a truly inspirational person and a fantastic cause.
