Anne

AnneMy name is Anne Johnston, I am 20 years old and I first met Monty shorty after year 12, little did I know that he had just gone through treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. At the time I was young and foolish (probably still am) and I wondered how anyone could go through that and still have a smile on their face, and energy to make me smile too. It is thanks to Monty for opening up my eyes and showing me that a diagnosis isn’t the end, that people can come back fight and all their need is a helping hand. I am currently working at Queensland Academy of Sport, helping elite Queensland athletes reach their full potential. I have been working at QAS for over a year now, and I am beginning to learn all I can about physiotherapy in preparation for this trip to Longreach. I want to do “The Long Run” not just to help Monty, but to help people out there that don’t have the same opportunities as he did and to give them the same fighting chance.
