I have often questioned whether I could mirror the strength shown by my friend Monty Summers if also confronted with a potentially terminal illness. Would I drown any opportunity for positivity with resentment? Or could I like Monty seek opportunity for positivity? Though participation in this event I hope to help Monty and this team of fine young men and women, help Australians challenging Leukemia and Autism to find greater opportunity for positivity.
As I am no athlete I plan to help Monty and this team by engaging the interest of the Queensland media in assisting with exposure of this event, its purpose and significance. I hope this will maximise opportunities for sponsorship of the event, and subsequently the funds raised for the Leukemia Foundation and AEIOU – for children with Autism.
I work as a Marketing Assistant at Major League Corporate Marketing and I am also progressing through a dual degree in Journalism and Business, majoring in Public Relations, at the Queensland University of Technology.
