My name is Alex Rose and I am 18 years old and currently in my first year of University. I have known Monty since I was about 14 and ran with him in the Churchie Cross country team. Obviously through this, our friendship has continued to prosper and when Monty suggested the initiative to raise money for people with leukemia and children with autism – I couldn’t have thought of a better way to help contribute. I am looking forward to this trip primarily because I see it as a bit of challenge, not just the challenge of being stuck in close quarters with these guys for over a week. I always felt a bit helpless when Monty was going through his roughest patch like there was nothing I could do to help him, but his strength and love of life continued to drive him throughout the darkest hour. I believe it is this strength that has enabled Monty to put together an event like this with such little assistance. I am the baby of the group and just happy to help a mate.
