Welcome to City to Longreach
1200 Km. 14 Mates. 1 Reason
On 14 July 2009, a group of ten Churchie Old Boys will depart from Brisbane with the goal of running to Longreach over 13 days to raise money for two Queensland charities, AEIOU and The Leukaemia Foundation. They will pass through 12 towns and run an average of 118km each day until they reach their end goal. The run will provide physically gruelling and mentally challenging conditions for the team.
Motivation will be drawn from the knowledge of being able to help other young Queenslanders who are in need of medical attention. This will be done with the help of two great charities, AEIOU and the Leukaemia Foundation. AEIOU is an organization which provides autistic children the help they need. Closer to the heart of the group, after witnessing Monty’s ordeal, is the Leukaemia Foundation which provides vital medical assistance to people suffering from Leukaemia.
With the Help of Sponsors they will be able to reach achieve their goal of raising money for youngsters in need.
